Tyler ‘We Nasty!’ Skaggs #45

By Scott

You may or may not be into numbers but when they are significant I find them pretty amazing.

Tyler Skaggs was a young Los Angeles Angels pitcher who died suddenly in his sleep earlier this month. It has greatly impacted the team and organization.

Last night was the Angels’ first home game back after the All Star break.  Tyler’s mom threw out the first pitch.  Everyone on the team wore the #45 with ‘Skaggs’ across the shoulders.  The entire game was dedicated to Skaggs.

Here are the numbers.

Los Angeles Angels pitched a no hitter.

7 runs in the first inning.
13 hits overall.

Tyler’s birthday is 7/13

The last time a California team pitched a no-hitter was 07/13/1991, the day Tyler Skaggs was born.
