Some localities are passing, or attempting to pass legislation that would require gun owners to store their firearms in a safe inside the home. Here are my thoughts.
- With the exception of your primary home defense weapon why are you NOT storing them in a safe?
- How are they going to enforce this law? Even though I am retired law enforcement, I am not letting LEOs in my house without a warrant. There are some notable exceptions of course. So short of the suspension of the right against unlawful search and seizure… it ain’t happening.
- If someone takes one of your guns that you do not have locked up in a safe and gets hurt or hurts someone else, this law will be the absolute LAST of your concerns trust me.
This is another case of grandstanding by left leaning politicians just trying to make it “seem” like they are doing something.
