Health Insurance Horseshit

By Scott

At my doctor’s appointment this morning. This appointment was scheduled at the request of the doctor’s office because I had not been seen (retina specialist) in about a year. No symptoms. No need.

Triage nurse asks me “How is your vision?”

Triage nurse: Are you having any difficulty seeing? Any blurry vision? Any pain?

Triage nurse: If we don’t have a reason for your visit, the insurance company may not cover the costs and you would be responsible for paying it.

Me: Your office called me and asked me to schedule the appointment. Which I did. It was at your request not mine.

Me: This is the fundamental issue with health insurance in a nutshell. Something MUST be wrong for you to get paid.
